First pick up with Sunroof
Kuala Lumpur, 4 October 2012 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the importer and distributor of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in Malaysia, officially launched the new Mitsubishi Triton VGT Euro today. The Triton VGT Euro is specially ordered and imported from Thailand and is exclusively limited to just 180 units.
Triton VGT Euro
Made especially for those who enjoy the outdoors with an urban lifestyle, the latest Mitsubishi Triton VGT Euro adds on power sunroof (the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer this feature) power slide and vent rear window, new front bumper extender with LED day time running lights, short cargo bed with sports roll bar, color-keyed rear step bumper, tail lamp garnish and door handle protectors.
For comfort and convenience, the interior of the new Triton VGT Euro adds on Audio player with Bluetooth connectivity and new leather seats.
Priced at RM 110,998.00 on-the-road with insurance, the Triton VGT Euro is obtainable in three colors – White Solid, Black Mica and Red Solid.
The Triton VGT was launched in March earlier this year and since then has sold close to 2,000 units in Malaysia. With a new powerful and economical engine with Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), Malaysia’s most awarded pick-up truck is also now the most powerful pick-up truck in its class.
The 2.5-litre powertrain diesel engine provides optimal turbo aspect ratio at any given speed, harnessing the power of the exhaust gas, and ensuring a constant delivery of additional fresh air to the engine for optimum performance.
As a result of the VGT and engine management, maximum power is significantly boosted to 178 PS at 4,000 rpm, while maximum torque rises to 350 Nm.
The Triton offers the best in class turning radius of 5.9 metres. It is also fitted with a Hybrid Limited Slip Differential (LSD) that gives excellent off-road response. Hybrid LSD combines the torque-sensing benefit of helical gears and the speed-sensing of a viscous coupling unit, all designed to work alongside ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), which are some of the standard features.
Power is channeled to the wheels via Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD system which allows the driver to ‘shift on the fly’ from 2WD to 4WD at speeds of up to 100km/h. The 5-speed Automatic Transmission with Sports Mode combines the convenience of an automatic transmission with direct control of a manual to give drivers the best of both worlds.
Unique to the Triton, its informative RV meter displays travel data such as driving range, average speed, fuel consumption and also a digital compass, barometer, altimeter and outer temperature.
The much awarded Triton has made the best pick-up truck award its own since it was launched in Malaysia in 2006, claiming the title no less than four times from Autocar ASEAN and four times from New Straits Times/Maybank Car of the Year Awards. In 2009, the Triton won best pick-up award from both publications and has successfully defended the titles. In 2010, the Triton has once again proved its capabilities winning the 2010 Autocar ASEAN Pick-up truck of the year. It’s also the only truck in Malaysia that can claim to have an entire range of award winning variants.
Mitsubishi Motors has a long history in motor sports, including a record-breaking 7th consecutive victory at the Dakar Rally in 2007. Mitsubishi Motors has achieved an unequalled 12 overall victories in 25 years, a track record that is reflected in the performance and quality of the Mitsubishi Motors vehicles.
