ALL-NEW MITSUBISHI TRITON OPEN FOR BOOKING

Kuala Lumpur, 1 April 2015 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, will be launching the all-new Mitsubishi Triton in May. In conjunction with the arrival of the new model, authorised Mitsubishi Motors dealers nationwide are accepting pre-launch bookings from customers who wish to be among the first owners of the new Triton in Malaysia.

“Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has been producing pick-ups for the past 36 years, since 1978, and to date, overfour million units have been sold worldwide and in Malaysia, the Triton has found 55,000 proud owners since its launch in 2006. The new Triton, which is the fifth generation of the model series, has been developed based on the concept of‘Smart Utility Truck’ and we believe it will impress customers with its new design and enhanced features, as well as even tougher engineering,” said Won-Chul Yang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.

“The new Triton sets new standards and has many first-in-class features which will delight our customers. Estimated introductory prices starts from RM71,000 to RM114,000,” Mr. Yang added.

The new Triton is imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle from MMC’s regional production hub for the model in Thailand and as before, customers will be able to choose from different variants to suit individual requirements and budgets. The Malaysian market offers five variants with the following estimated prices (including insurance and GST for private registration) in Peninsular Malaysia:

The all-new Triton is powered by the proven and reliable Mitsubishi powertrains which have been improved for the new generation. Included in the powertrain options is the 2.5-litre VGT 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine which produces a maximum output of 178 PS at 4,000 rpm. Maximum torque has been increased from 350 Nm to 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm.

VGT stands for ‘Variable Geometry Turbo’ which was introduced with the previous generation. The advanced turbocharger delivers uncompromising power by achieving an optimal turbocharging at any given speed. The result is more instantaneous response for acceleration with minimal lag while at the same time, achieving high fuel efficiency.

Just as the previous generation of the Triton set new standards in the pick-up segment, its successor also brings to the segment first-in-class features such as a Push Start Button for engine ignition, Keyless Entry, Xenon HID Headlamps with integrated Day Running Lights, Tilt and Telescopic Steering and Paddle Shifters for manual control of the automatic transmission when the driver wants it. The all-new Triton also comes with an aerodynamic design with best-in-class co-efficient drag of 0.42.

Additional advanced features include Dual-Zone Climate Control, 4WD Selector that allows shift-on-the-fly (4H, 4L or 2H), Touchscreen audio system with reverse camera, auto headlamps and auto wipers that are activated automatically when needed.

Malaysians will be able to get the first close-up view of the all-new Mitsubishi Triton at a series of teaser displays at major towns and cities in April. The locations and dates of the roadshows are shown below:

Since 2005, MMM has sold more than 82,000 units of vehicles in Malaysia. MITSUBISHI MOTORS FLOOD RELIEF PROGRAM

50% DISCOUNT ON SPARE PARTS FOR MITSUBISHI OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE FLOODS; RM81,000 RAISED TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORT

Kuala Lumpur, 8 January 2015 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi passenger vehicles in Malaysia, has announced a Flood Relief Program for all Mitsubishi owners affected by the recent flood disaster.

Mitsubishi Motors will offer a 50% discount on spare parts prices from today till 31st January 2015 for vehicles damaged by the floods, the qualification for discount will however be subjected to verification from MMM to ensure authenticity of each case. Additionally, only vehicles that were purchased from the authorized dealers of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia can qualify for this special discount.

“We hope that this Flood Relief Program offered by MMM will help ease the burden of our customers through this difficult period. Our heartfelt prayers and best wishes go out to our customers and their families who have been affected by the floods,” said Toshiyuki Okumura, Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MMM.

In addition, MMM, together with its authorized dealers, pledged RM50 each for every Mitsubishi vehicle that was registered in December 2014. At present, a total of RM81,000 have been raised. This fund will be used to replenish necessity items such as school supplies and household utilities.

MMM will also be holding a clean-up program at flood-hit areas such as Kuala Krai and Tanah Merah in Kelantan, as well as Temerloh, Pahang to assist flood victims from today until 10 January 2014. Triton Tuners Club (TTC), the official club for Mitsubishi Triton owners in Malaysia, is also supporting this initiative.

FIELD FIX CAMPAIGN FOR V-BELT AND BRAKE BOOSTER

LATEST CAMPAIGN INVOLVES CBU MODELS OF THE LANCER, LANCER SPORTBACK, LANCER EVOLUTION AND ASX

Kuala Lumpur, 6 January 2015 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, has requested for the inspection of the V-ribbed belt and brake booster of certain CBU models manufactured between 2007 and 2010. If deemed necessary, these parts will be replaced at no expense to customers.

Models involved in the V-ribbed belt inspection include the Lancer, Lancer Sportback, Lancer Evolution and ASX. While in the case of the brake booster, only the ASX is involved. Note that the locally-assembled ASX CKD models are not required to undergo this inspection.

MMM will issue notification letters to affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the inspection and repair (if required) will be borne by Mitsubishi Motors.

MMM kindly request valued customers to make an appointment at any of our Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the inspection and/or replacement of the above.

Mitsubishi Triton Gets A Facelift!

Most powerful pick-up in its class now with sportier enhancements

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, officially launched the new Triton today. Apart from the Triton VGT GS, the Triton facelift also offers three other upgraded variants including, Triton 2.5 AT, Triton 2.5 MT and Triton 2.5 MT STD with a new designed front bumper and grille.

The stylish looks of the Triton VGT GS has been further enhanced with sportier elements including newly designed front bumper and grille as well as projector headlamps. From the interior, the Triton VGT GS now comes with 6.1-inch Touch Screen Audio with rear view display*. The Triton VGT GS also spots newly designed sporty 17” alloy wheels while the Triton 2.5 AT/MT comes with 16” alloy wheels.

The Triton VGT comes with a reliable 2.5-litre powertrain diesel engine which produces a maximum output of 178 PS at 4,000 rpm, while maximum torque at 350 Nm from 1,800 – 3,500 rpm.

The Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) delivers uncompromising power while maintaining fuel efficiency by achieving an optimal turbo aspect ratio at any given speed. It harnesses the power of the exhaust emission, ensuring a constant delivery of additional fresh air to the engine for optimum performance.

The Triton VGT GS is also the only pick-up truck to be fitted with Hybrid Limited Slip Differential (LSD)* that gives excellent off-road response. Hybrid LSD combines the torque-sensing benefit of helical gears and the speed-sensing of a viscous coupling unit, all designed to work alongside ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), which are standard. (* Available on VGT GS, AT and MT variant only)

The Triton comes with Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body which is effective in protecting occupants. It is also equipped with a solid frame construction and aerodynamic body design to provide solid handling with smooth highway performance plus excellent stability and traction. The Triton is also equipped with an agile suspension system to give an unmatched traction and stability with a higher ground clearance for off-road conditions.

Power is channelled to the wheels via 5-speed automatic transmission with Sports Mode. Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD system which allows the driver to ‘shift on the fly’ from 2WD to 4WD at speeds of up to 100km/h. The Triton offers the best in class turning radius of 5.9 metres.

The Triton, widely acknowledged as the most awarded pick-up truck of the year and one of the best handling pick-up trucks in the market, has been a great success, creating a new trend with powerful engine, ride comfort and enhanced safety features.

The Mitsubishi Triton ranks highest in the recent J.D. Power 2013 Malaysia Initial Quality Study (IQS) for the pickup segment, with a score of 52 PP100. The JD Power IQS Study, now in its 11th year, examines new-vehicle quality during the first two to six months of ownership. The overall initial quality score is determined by problems reported per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower rate of problem incidence indicating higher quality.

Over the years, the Triton has also won awards for Autocar Asean awards 2007 4×4 Pick-Up of the Year, New Straits Times 2007 Pick-Up truck of the Year, New Straits Times 2008 Pick-Up Truck of the Year, Autocar Awards 2008 Pick-Up Truck of the Year, New Straits Times 2009 Twincab Pick-Up Truck of the Year, and Autocar Awards 2010 Pick-Up Truck of the Year.
