MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA REPORTS BEST SALES SINCE ESTABLISHMENT

Kuala Lumpur, 13 April 2015 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia reported the highest sales figure of 14,184 units of registration for Financial Year 2014 (April 2014 – March 2015). This is MMM’s highest sales achievement since its establishment in January 2005.
The record for Financial Year 2014 (FY2014) performance capped an all-time record for the company with sales increasing 12.8% from the previous financial year. This achievement also marks MMM’s tenth year in operations.

The strong performance was partly due to overall company’s momentum, driven largely by a surge of sales for MMM’s first local assembled in Malaysia, the Mitsubishi ASX. Since its introduction in February 2014, total sales of the Mitsubishi ASX is 3,299 units contributing to 23% of MMM’s total sales for the financial year.
he stylish Mitsubishi ASX has swept many key awards in the SUV category including the title of “Best Local Assembled SUV” by Asian Auto Allianz Auto Industry Awards 2014, “Best Small/Midsize SUV 2014” by Autocar ASEAN magazine as well as “Small/Midsize SUV (2WD) of the Year 2014” by New Straits Times’ Car Bikes and Trucks.
Another contribution was the Mitsubishi Triton which sold 6,016 units contributing 42% of MMM sales. The all-new Triton is set to be launched in May 2015 which is the fifth generation of the model series.

MMM has also expanded its sales network from 42 outlets in Financial Year 2013 (FY2013) to 58 outlets in FY2014. To date, Mitsubishi Motors is represented by 58 showrooms (out of which 51 are 3S Centres) and 54 service outlets throughout Malaysia.

Since 2005, MMM has sold more than 88,000 units of vehicles in Malaysia. The ASX 2WD and 4WD compact SUV is locally assembled in Malaysia while the other Mitsubishi models are imported as CBU (Completely Built-Up) units from Thailand (compact hatchback Mirage, compact sedan Attrage, Pajero Sport SUV, Triton pick-ups) and Japan (Pajero and Lancer sedan).
